It's all a bunch of Hocus Pocus//Dance Squad Creative Session

After the success of the Avengers session in July, I immediately saw this Hocus Pocus inspired session coming together in my mind’s eye and I knew that this would be the first creative session I would put together with my dance squad. Dancers are incredible athletes and performers and seeing the girls bring to life their characters in their own unique ways was incredible.

I was lucky to have the perfect amount of girls on the squad for the characters I wanted to capture. As an added bonus all of the dancers are from the same studio, know each other, and work together often. As we started into the planning phase, sending outfits back and forth and I watched the families helping piece together the outfits, I knew this was coming to be a really special session.

The setting of my Spooky Halloween sessions was the perfect backdrop for this session. We scheduled for sunset to create the dim light that befit the story. With everything in place and perfectly planned, it was up to the girls to put the finishing touches on their characters through their expressions and movement.

I hope you will enjoy our rendition of the Sanderson sisters and Thackery Binx.

Which Character is your favorite?

Donut Grow up//1st birthday cake smash

Ever since I completed the shiplap wall in my studio, I’ve wanted to do this session. We are donut fanatics in this house and I love the donut wall decor that’s been trending at birthdays and weddings the last few years. As every mom had their own theme in mind for first birthday sessions it took me almost 3 years to find a family willing to try my idea out.

The set up was simple. I used wooden pegs to to hang the donuts on and stacked some on the side using my wooden boxes. A whole lot of sprinkles dumped on the ground added the extra color the setup was missing and made for perfectly safe to eat confetti!

Not every baby loves the cake portion of the cake smash but he DOVE right into the donuts with both hands. Eagerly trying out every flavor sitting in front of him. I loved his enthusiasm for the theme and I definitely plan to repeat it ASAP!
